A to Z Blogging Challenge: D is for Deadlines
Hello! If you’re a new reader of my blog and just found me through this A to Z Challenge, thanks for dropping by. If you’ve been before, thanks for sticking with it. I’m still working hard on the A to Z Blogging Challenge for 2019 and my theme this year is NaNoWriMo. Today is the fourth day of the challenge so we have to write something beginning with D.
It’s quite appropriate that today represents D for Deadlines today because it’s been all about deadlines for me. I had an assignment due today at midday and I had to get it ready last night because we’re travelling today. So I feel the pressure of a deadline fresh in my mind.
Deadlines can work two ways. Sometimes they can motivate you to get things done that otherwise you would have not completed, at least by the day of the deadline. Then they can have the opposite effect and stress you out to the point of not being able to function. I think both are normal. Personally, I find my own feelings about deadlines are a mix of both. Deadlines motivate me but they stress me at the same time. However, most of my books would never have been completed without the pressure of a deadline.
NaNoWriMo is all about the deadlines. Every day there’s a word count to meet and then there’s the all-important final word count of 50,000 to meet. I think anyone who signs up for the challenge either doesn’t mind the deadline or feeds on it.
Tomorrow, I’m writing D for Dark Nights and Fairy Lights. Please remember to leave your blog link below if you comment so that I can visit you too (I’m getting round to everyone) and if you get a chance, you can check out the A to Z of my wish list at Rock Paper Spirit where today I'm writing about E for Electrolysis.
