The A to Z Challenge 2019 - Theme Reveal

Hey everyone, welcome back to Lacey Dearie's Tangled Web! It's a while since I've posted on this site because basically I was working really hard on Rock Paper Spirit, my lifestyle blog. Now that it's going strong, I've turned my attention to other sites, namely this one and a couple of others that are in the pipeline. But today, I want to talk about something else. I want to share my theme for the A to Z Blogging Challenge 2019.

If you're wondering what the A to Z Blogging Challenge is, it's when a group of bloggers and writers get together every year in April and challenge themselves to write 26 posts in that month. They have a particular theme and they write the A to Z of that theme. In 2014 I wrote the A to Z of Lingerie over on Knicker Blogger Glory (remember that old site?!). Last year I made the mistake of trying to repeat that same theme on Rock Paper Spirit and as you can imagine, it didn't go too well. This year, I'm writing a new A to Z over there, which you can find out by heading over to the site to check it out. I'll reveal the A to Z for my Tangled Web in just a minute.

First, I want to talk some more about the benefits of completing the A to Z Blogging Challenge. The challenge has reached its 10th anniversary this year, so it's not some experiment. It's stood the test of time and it's not only enjoyable but useful too. There are a whole list of advantages to joining this challenge, including:
  • It prompts a regular writing habit. If you're writing 26 posts, which is pretty much one a day with Sundays off, you find it weird to stop when April is over.
  • It's a great way to meet other bloggers because part of the challenge is commenting on other people's blogs. You should aim for around 5 a day.
  • You might learn something while you're commenting on other blogs or researching for you own and knowledge is power.
  • It generates more niche content for your blog. If you choose a topic like the A to Z of perfume, you can then call yourself a perfume blogger, can't you?
So, let me talk about my own theme for a second. In April 2019 on my Tangled Web, I'll be writing the A to Z of Nanowrimo. That should be quite funny, considering it's another challenge and I participate every year (but have only completed and won Nanowrimo twice). I'll be sharing posts about my own experience of Nanowrimo and posts about universal experiences as well as some writing tips.

So, if you're a writer or a reader or you just enjoy reading about Nanowrimo, pop back in during the month of April and see what I've come up with!

These will be left blank at the time of initial publication but as the challenge progresses, I'll link you up to the posts.
